A natural trilobite fossil plate featuring Redlichia mansuyi, preserved in matrix from Cambrian-age rock in Guizhou Province, China.
This species belongs to the order Redlichiida, one of the earliest and most widespread trilobite groups, dating to the Cambrian period - roughly 521-509 million years ago, among the oldest complex animal fossils on Earth.
Redlichia mansuyi is recognized by its broad, semicircular head shield (cephalon), prominent eyes, and multi-segmented thorax, typical of the redlichiid body plan. As one of the dominant trilobite groups of the early Cambrian seas, these fossils offer a direct window into some of the earliest complex marine ecosystems.
Sold as a natural stone plate with fossil impression intact. Each piece is one-of-a-kind; size, preservation, and matrix character vary specimen to specimen.
Natural fossils may show matrix variation, surface texture, and minor imperfections from the fossilization process. These are authentic characteristics, not defects.
