Orange Kyanite is a rare color variety of the aluminum silicate mineral Al₂SiO₅, sharing the same triclinic crystal system and characteristic anisotropic hardness as blue kyanite — approximately 4.5 Mohs parallel to the blade and up to 7 perpendicular. The distinctive orange coloration results from trace manganese substitutions within the crystal lattice, making gem-quality orange kyanite considerably scarcer than its blue counterpart. These elongated stick-shaped crystals form under high-pressure metamorphic conditions in schist and gneiss formations. This listing is for a 1-kilo lot of natural stick-shaped specimens.
Origin: Tanzania | Crystal System: Triclinic | Hardness: 4.5–7 (anisotropic) | Composition: Al₂SiO₅ (Mn-bearing)
Metaphysically linked to the sacral chakra, orange kyanite is said to stimulate creativity and personal will — and like all kyanite, is considered energetically self-cleansing.
