Apophyllite is a phyllosilicate mineral with the formula KCa₄Si₈O₂₀(F,OH)·8H₂O, crystallizing in the tetragonal system at Mohs 4.5–5. It is notable for an unusually high water content — approximately 16% by weight held within the crystal structure — which contributes to its exceptionally bright, glassy luster and is responsible for the name (from Greek: 'to exfoliate upon heating'). Apophyllite forms in hydrothermal cavities within basaltic and volcanic rock, most abundantly in the Deccan Traps of Maharashtra, India, where it occurs alongside stilbite, heulandite, and other zeolite-family minerals. These 'tops' are the termination ends of pyramidal apophyllite crystals — naturally separated and prized for their geometric clarity. Ideal for wire wrapping, settings, and display.

Associated with the crown and third eye chakras, apophyllite is said to carry an exceptionally high-vibrational clarity — a stone used in meditation for facilitating stillness and inner light.
